Navigate to the registry key you want to restore ownership back to TrustedInstaller for. You may not see this dialog box, depending on your User Account Control settings. If the User Account Control dialog box displays, click Yes to continue. Then, type: regedit and hit Enter or click OK. Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box. But make sure you back up the Registry, create a Restore Point, or back up your computer before making changes. This is a fairly simple change, and if you follow our instructions, you shouldn’t have any problems. Note: The Registry Editor is a powerful tool that can render your system unstable or even inoperable if misused.
